There’s plenty of reasons why we think Padel (or Padel Tennis) should be on everyone’s agenda. It’s fun, addictive and a great way to get in shape… and here’s why!

1. Padel is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world.

It’s played by tens of millions worldwide, and although the first Padel club was established in Marbella, the sport has spread across the globe. Start now and you’ll be ahead of the curve when the whole world starts playing!

2. It’s a social sport.

Padel is played in doubles, meaning it’s a naturally social sport. Not only can you play with friends, but single players often match with strangers at their Padel clubs as an easy way to meet new people.

3. The ruleset is simple and interesting.

Padel combines the best elements of other racket sports like tennis, squash and badminton to create a dynamic game which keeps players on their toes. However, you’ll find the rules surprisingly simple, and most players have a great grasp of the game within their first 20 minutes of play.

4. Padel is inclusive.

Padel is a game that can be enjoyed by all, no matter their age, gender or athletic ability. Like other racket sports like tennis and squash, it’s not uncommon to see children and elderly hobbyists sharing Padel clubs with high-level athletes including professionals.

5. Buying kit won’t break the bank.

To get started, you won’t need to spend thousands on new equipment. That said, your own Padel racket and a good pair of Padel shoes are great starter investments, and a variety of both can be found on our online store.

6. No complicated scoring system.

In both male and female Padel, scoring is the same as tennis and matches are commonly won by the best of 3 sets. Six games are needed to win a set and the pair who wins two sets wins the match. That means less stress over keeping intricate scores and more time playing the game!

7. Padel can be played all year round.

The game is played just as much in winter as in summer, when players swap outdoor matches for indoor courts. That means players can take advantage of all of the above benefits whatever the weather, all through the year.

8. Padel keeps you fit.

Strength, speed, agility, flexibility and endurance are just some of the physical attributes that Padel can help you develop. You can also expect your hand-eye coordination and reaction time to improve with repeated play.

9. Padel is a brain-booster.

The health benefits don’t stop at the physical. Playing Padel can improve critical thinking and mental alertness by making connections in the brain. Sports such as Padel also helps regulate serotonin, which helps with sleep and appetite. The social aspect of the game, as well as plenty of time in the fresh air during the summer season, are also brilliant aids to mental health.
